Grant Dawkins and the Selection team (Gordon Rae, John Price and Suzy Courtnage) had worked hard to create the monochrome panel ‘Going Up and Coming Down’ featuring Staircases, with these results:
- Ludshott PC was awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ for the quality of this panel
- Grant Dawkins was awarded Second place for his image ‘Two ladies on the stairs’.
- (The other images featured in the panel were by – Lesley Coombes, John Price, Harold Russell and Suzy Courtnage.)
- We were the only Club to receive two mentions in the awards results
So a great result all round, and many congratulations to all involved in this achievement
Success at Woking's Rosebowl Competiton
Ludshott did it! We won this SPA Interclub competition on 9 March 2021!

Surrey Advertiser Rosebowl competition 2020
Once again we entered this competition which takes place each year at Woking and is open to all SPA clubs. Our panel is below.
Twenty-one clubs entered the competition this year, and the judge was Chris Palmer FRPS DPAGB APAGB EFIAP.

Each club enters a panel of 5 images by 5 photographers on a theme of their own choosing. An additional image is prepared for each set, showing all the pictures in a single row, to demonstrate the flow of the set.

Competition against Cranleigh CC on 23/01/2020
The evening went well with Cranleigh just pipping us by 1 mark in the Open section, where each club submitted 15 entries. In the Nature section, which had the same number of entries, we won by 9.5 marks. The full marks are below.

Ludshott did well in NATURE. We came fifth out of 19 Surrey clubs. Last year we came 14th out of 19.
Mike Young ARPS had the winning image of the afternoon – Goldfinch with fledgling (see below)
with a score of 14. This received the cup and medal.
Mike also received 13 out of 15 for “Fritillaries meet”, which won a Judge’s medal.
We did not do well in the Open section where the results were
